HOPE is a radical opportunity for young Christian men and women to serve the urban poor and the homeless. By living and working in an inner-city community and homeless shelter, HOPE Team Members effectively impact the lives of people by investing in intimate relationships, sharing the gospel, and giving consistent support to those most in need. Living out Christ’s command to “Love the Lord your God, and love your neighbor as yourself.”, HOPE is ideal for young men and women who have a passion for the gospel and compassion for their fellow man.
HOPE offers 3 month summer terms and 1 year full terms. HOPE is designed for men and women between the ages of 18 and 29.
Our Men’s Team lives on site at JSBC and serves those in need by: serving in our Day Shelter, investing in intimate relationships with the recovering homeless, being a part of a local church and spending daily time with God and their team.
Our Women’s Team lives off site in a house in the inner-city and serves those in need by: serving the homeless in our Day Shelter, investing in intimate relationships with the recovering homeless as well as your inner-city neighbors (women and children, primarily), being a part of a local church, and spending daily time with God and their team.
