OUT-OF-TOWN GROUPS
JSBC is excited when groups from out of town choose to come visit and serve with us. Unlike many other “mission trips” where groups simply show up and serve, JSBC is more interested in impacting your group for the long term as opposed to simply letting them serve and then returning home.
When groups come to work with us our intention is to make it an experience – not just a mission trip. We want there to be experiential elements, educational elements, worship moments, times of solitude and retreat, reflection time and challenging conversations as well as times of fun. To this end, JSBC is in the process of developing a poverty simulation that may compose part of your time with us. Your group will experience for themselves some of the lifestyle that the homeless must live. We are more concerned with seeing people grow into Christians that are trying to understand and love the poor than we are with getting paint on our walls (though we need both).
We are interested in accommodating small groups as well as large groups.
Write to Darrell Johnson or call 502.584.6543 for more information on bringing your group to serve the homeless in Louisville.
