ABOUT JSBC
& THE HOMELESS
JEFFERSON STREET BAPTIST CENTER
With roots dating back to 1881, Jefferson Street Baptist Center has served the poor and homeless of urban Louisville by meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Whether through the Day Shelter, which offers a welcome and safe place from the elements, or through our Fresh Start program, which helps men transition from a life of homelessness, JSBC continues to provide hope for the homeless.
Jefferson Street Baptist Center exists to make the entire good news of Jesus Christ known to the homeless of Louisville – meeting physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs. This is manifested through unconditional service and the emphasis on relationships that exist between God, guests, residents, staff and volunteers. JSBC has 4 programs that seek to minister to the needs of the homeless.
